Deciding to say goodbye to a pet can be a difficult decision accompanied by guilt and other emotions.
Consulting with your regular veterinarian is important, as they will evaluate your pet's medical history, physical condition, quality of life, and prognosis.
However, pet owners often intuitively know when it is the right time for their pet and themselves
It's important to watch for physical signs of pain or discomfort, such as increased respiratory or heart rate, loss of appetite, lack of mobility, incontinence, and disinterest in usual activities.
If a pet is no longer drinking water or having difficulty breathing, especially open mouthed breathing or abnormally heavy panting, it's crucial to seek immediate veterinary attention.

When you call to schedule your pet's euthanasia, our team members will offer comfort and guidance, and will ensure that you have all the necessary information to make a decision about our home euthanasia and/or pet cremation options. We will provide all of the essential details upfront to minimize time spent during your appointment and so you know what to expect during the procedure and after.
We will go over details such as:

In-Home Pet Euthanasia FAQs
Our utmost priority is to ensure that euthanasia is a stress-free and painless experience for your pet.
We begin by administering a powerful sedative and pain medication in a single injection. Within 2-10 minutes, the medication takes effect, inducing relaxation and comfort. At this point, most pets are completely sedated and unresponsive.
When you and your family are ready, a concentrated euthanasia solution is painlessly administered through an intravenous injection. Within a minute or two, your beloved pet will peacefully and quietly pass away.
The entire process typically lasts between 30-60 minutes, allowing ample time for you to say your goodbyes without feeling rushed. We understand the importance of providing space and support during this emotional time.
All our euthanasia procedures are performed by licensed veterinarians with current DEA licenses.
We understand that choosing the right aftercare option for your pet is a deeply personal decision and we offer various options to accommodate your preferences.
You may choose burial, either in a cemetery or at home. Additionally, we provide both private cremation, where your pet’s cremains are returned to you, and communal cremation, where cremains are not returned.
We are here to guide you in making the best choice for your family, and we will handle the transportation of remains for cremation at our facility following the euthanasia appointment.
We will discuss aftercare options when making the appointment.
We recommend that other pets in the household see the pet that has passed away, especially if they seemed to have a close relationship.
While we think it is less important for the other pets to be in attendance during the procedure, they are welcome to be there. In fact, many of our families have chosen home euthanasia in part so that other pet family members may be present.
The only time it may not be advisable for the other pet(s) to be in the room during the procedure is if they are the kind of pet that would be disruptive, but most will settle down after the initial excitement of having a new person come into their home abates.
We advise 1) giving children the chance to say goodbye to the pet, and 2) asking them if they would like to be present during the procedure.
Each individual child, just like each individual adult, may have strong feelings one way or another, and there is no right or wrong answer to whether someone decides to be present or not.
The most important thing is to let them choose the option that they are most comfortable with. We have had children of every age present during euthanasia, and because we specialize in this procedure, we intend for it to be as peaceful as possible.
Most people, adult and child, find comfort in witnessing the alleviation of the condition that necessitates euthanasia, and the peaceful way in which it proceeds.
Our service cost varies depending on the service address. If we will be assisting you with cremation, this cost will depend upon your pet’s size and type of cremation requested.

Because of the high credit card fees, we encourage cash or check, Venmo or Zelle. However, we can accept credit and debit cards (VISA, Mastercard, Discover, American Express) or Paypal.
Payment may be done over the phone at the time the appointment is made, online using our payment portal on the home page, or when the veterinarian arrives.
CareCredit does not finance euthanasia, so unfortunately this is not an option for our visits.
